We like to capture the diversity of manifestations of the Feminine dimension of the Divine.

To capture it in order to celebrate it.

We allow ourselves to be surprised by visions that are so different that they give shape to polarities that are only apparently irreconcilable.

In the images of the two goddesses, we can observe traits, postures and clothing that evoke scenarios of life and opposite emotions.

The half-bust representing the divine feminine in the religious tradition of the Hindu area explodes in a burst of abundance: the prosperous breasts – emphasised by the shape of the clothes and underlined by designs that enhance their roundness – are the figure and measure of the body’s beauty. Which we can easily imagine. Gold embraces her with its luminescent warmth. It emphasises the complexion of the goddess with swirls of movement. The jewellery marks imaginary perimeters on her face and neck. The eyes, dreamy, are an invitation to dream. They look into the distance. At the seraphic beauty of something to contemplate. They look at the observer… so that the observer can grasp the divine that is in the world.

Everything about the goddess says, without being said: voluptuousness.

The half-bust depicting the divine feminine in the religious tradition of the Christian area expresses the experience of inner absorption. Here too draperies appear, but their purpose is to surround the action in which the goddess is engaged: prayer. And the gold, although present, borders and delimits, but without capturing our attention. Just a touch, a handful of small stars on the veil, indicating the divine lineage. The hands occupy the central part of the sculpture. Their pose completely conceals the breasts. They are joined, in a prayerful position. They remind us that something that cannot be seen must be perceived. And that this something is not outside – on the horizon or elsewhere – is expressed by the eyes, half-closed and lowered.

Everything about the goddess says, without being said: the power of the divine is within.

Both female divinities, in their abysmal differences – and indeed, precisely because of them – stimulate us to explore the magnificence of the riches of the female universe: sensuality and meditative attitude; splendour and reserve; openness to the world and attention to interiority.
